A couple of years back, my company celebrated the successes of the year by inviting employees and spouses (or significant others) to spend an evening on a dinner cruise on Lake Michigan. Seeing the Chicago skyline from the water at night is spectacular.

A few years back, my daughter’s class took a field trip to Chicago. They cruised on the Chicago River and heard all about the architectural wonders of Chicago. While the weather wasn’t the best, my daughter snapped some pretty good shots. It’s OK with her if I share them here.
I brought back such wonderful stories of Alaska and the kids wanted to see their aunt in her native habitat, we just had to head up to Alaska in 2005. Here are some of the things we saw.
After my sister moved up to Alaska, I felt it was my brotherly duty to go and visit – to see if she was fitting in and getting accustomed to life in the largest state in the nation. The bonus side was that I had some time to spend by myself and with my sister looking at allof the sights.
