EAA Airventure videos

I’ve always wanted to go to the EAA Airventure show but I’ve never had the chance – or really never carved out the time to go. SO, since work has been slow and I seem to have plenty of vacation days still left, I decided to head up this year. These are some of the videos I took with my digital camera. The quality isn’t that great and I didn’t bring a tripod, but they are still pretty good videos.

A pair of P-51 Mustangs taking off in the morning.

A plane taxiing back to it’s parking place. It’s amazing how close you can get to operating aircraft.

One of the p-51 Mustangs that took off in the first video taxis into it’s parking space. There was only a one plane’s width gap between me and the P-51 as it pulled in.

Two F-15 Eagles doing a morning fly-by.

Rocket racer – these aircraft are actually powered by rocket motors burning liquid hydrogen.

Rocket racer – this particular aircraft in the demonstration was piloted by a NASA astronaut who’s piloted the shuttle.

F-22 Raptor fly-by

F-22 Raptor fly-by. The pilot is demonstrating the vector thrust capability of the aircraft. It was only going about 50 -60 miles per hour as it flew down the length of the airshow area.

F-22 Raptor high speed pass fly-by

A V-22 Osprey getting set to close up at the end of the day.

    Hi FJ:

What can I say, public domain. Curt hasn’t missed an airshow in 20 years. He usually ends up meeting up with Andrea, our daughter who drives down from St. Paul. He has book after book of pictures, and finally didn’t take his camera last year. I showed your videos to him.

    Regards, Michele Pizza
